yep powerbelt doesnt recommend the 295gr powerbelt for elk.

338 or heavier. And taking shoulder shots with a pure lead conical with a hollow point is a big no no.

i hunt the southern part of San Isabel Ntl Forest around walsenburg colorado. Of course this year i am stuck in unit 85 around Stonewall Colorado area.

i remember that article from years back. I guess they cant read " do not use smokeless powder" written on the box of the Powerbelts LOL. Soft lead and being pushed that fast, its just going to splat ...

Powerbelts arent junk, each rifle has its own perfect load. Sometimes it takes time,money and an owner with a mind thats willing to listen and learn.

I had a Winchester Apex .45 that wouldnt shoot ...

Try an assortment of primers as they can make a huge difference in how the bullet groups. Remington Kleanbore/Winchester777 primers are the most accurate in my Omega with Powerbelts.
