Doesn't Umberti now off a model called "el padrone" (or something like that) . Where they take some of their SAA off the line and send them to there custom shope and have them tuned up? |

So there is no real way to tell if vertical or horiz. stringing is a result of load develoment? |

Redneckhunter. I think part of the problem might be the twist rate from what I have read, you probably need a heavier bullet. I have the same problem with an H&R 243, it will key hole 100 grain stuff ... |

If your friend just wants to try the gun out, he might look at Black Hill Ammunition. They use cast bullets and have good accuracy. |

Go for the 10/22. I have beat the crap out of mine and it still works great. Every time I go out on the property, it goes in the back of the Gator. Great for snakes and trutles. |

I did find one little fault with the 45-70. I loaded a few rounds for my Ruger #1 at "Ruger loads" (which are hotter than Marlin loads and I believe hotter than 450 loads) to see what they would do. T ... |

Thanks. I guess I need to try some 158 grain bullets. The Marlin and my Python are not the primary guns I use for deer but if I am out in the woods with them and a deer happens along I want to be sure ... |
