Most dies need to be set about 1/4 turn below where it hits the shell holder so that the die "cams over" as in these RCBS instructions

Never heard of a 338 WSM AI. If you took the 300 WSM and necked it up to 338 it would have a 35* shoulder and a very low body taper already. There would be no advantage to making it an AI.

You do not have to resize the necks after pulling bullets with the RCBS.
For example here is a 375 Ruger 260 gr Accubond that I needed to pull

The bulge at the pressure ring is an indication of a chamber that is a little large. That can actually be an advantage (if it is not out-of-bounds). My Steyr 30-06 does the same thing
