Anchored another turkey this weekend with the 195 MKZ subsonic. The sound of the wallop when the bullet hits is pretty impressive.

I'm finding this to be fascinating but ultimately fruitless in my case.

Keep it coming matey.

Tell me that bullet performed like a full metal jacket with no expansion...

Deer Sniper, all indications were there was full expansion on impact as the bullet in the top left of the picture below. That is 1.25+ inch expansion. The entrance wound on the turkey is a nickel to a quarter coin in size. I try to shoot them head-on with their next extended up. I place the bullet in the upper half of the chest so the bullet impacts the backbone which anchors them pretty good.

I downed another boar last night. It was an 80 yard shot and passed through (entrance side shown). The boar ran 30 yards, did a flip, and was DRT. I expect the same positive performance with deer.

Great job Slim...those projectiles are pretty decisive mate. Looking forward to seeing the results on deer.

hojoos, I'm not aware that Nosler sells a subsonic projectile for reloaders. Do you have a link? Hornady has a 190gr .308 Sub-X.

there have been rumours they are about...the lehighs seem to be the best by far...but you cast go past soft cast for balance between cost and preformance...if they have a big hollow point they expand reliably at subsonic speeds.
think giant .22lr
