Paul you must have hunted the same areas as I. Eastern huh. Maybe not.

I hunted the western side of the Cascades east of Seattle in the Snoqualmie National Forest and the Olympics west of Seattle for both bear and Blacktails.

Bushy, when I lived in Seattle I used to hunt the Olympics for bear - spring damage most often. I've gotten a couple of deer in the Olympics and one on the west side of the Cascades but most of my deer hunting was in the Entiat area or north near Chesaw.

The Elk hunting was good in the Entiat area too.
We usually walked in off the beaten track no matter where we hunted. No roads or trails just our guns and packs.

Took an Elk up near Blewett Pass many years ago.

Those were better times. I used to get combination hunting and fishing licenses each year.
Now the game and fish is so poorly managed that you can't afford the paperwork to tell them you didn't get anything.

That's what my son tells me. He hunts geese, ducks and upland game birds in Eastern Washington.
