Led Lenser torches got my vote.
They have a built in zoom that can illuminate wide area and zoomed to a pencil thin high intensity beam for longer distance.
Couple this with a scope/barrel holder would give you fun all night long LOL.

I am using Streamlight LED Flashlight and Its lumen is 1100, and the beam travels a distance of 510 meters.
