Actually an electric motor has 100% torque from the get go, which could be a big advantage on the drag strip.

While an electric vehicle develops 100% of its torque, they seem to be lacking in top speed. It’s a Catch 22 situation…the faster they go, the more power they draw, the more power they draw, they less available to produce high speed.
A Nitro powered (methanol and 90% nitro methane) is still producing more power at the end of a 1/4 mile run. From memory, the record sits at 3.64 seconds and 338mph for the 1/4 mile.
