Provincial Election here in Manitoba. I seldom discuss politics and I may not have mentioned it before but I agree one hundred percent with Bushmaster's signature line regarding democracy and liberty.
So, three candidates...I voted for all three! Then, under candidate #1 I wrote: democracy is, Under candidate #2: just a lynch mob, under Candidate #3: without the noose
I hope that gives me the right to bitch about whoever wins, because I'm going to,

Let me tell you a tale about an election. We do not get to write messages here in the Sunshine State. We just have Chad hanging around screwing up the election night results at least that is what the CNNs and Hollywood will tell you..... But taint the way it was at all. Naw, not really, big mouth liberals said it was a little red hair, close election, cheering Yeah! We win, the polls are closed.
One minor problem, the polls in conservitive NW FL were still open (central time zone) and every swinging Richard went and stood in line. People were calling each other to car pool to stand in line. Here if a line exists at poll closure time, a poll worker stands in line outside, to close the poll at their spot. We had 89% voter turn out after the announced win by Gore. There never was a recount in the panhandle, not one, wonder why? Now you know the real story....
Will Mr Gore please report to the out house.
Ed

At least you got out to vote. I was able to take my daughter to vote for the first time. Regardless of who she put an X for, made me feel proud.

Don't know how they view that type of vote Tracks, but doing that here in Australia is a total waste of time. The above vote would be counted as informal and consigned to the "round filing cabinet"....the rubbish bin. In others words, a wasted vote.
In Australia voting is compulsory. If you are 18+ you must register to vote and then you must vote at election time....not just Federal, but also State and Local. If you don't vote you are fined.
Some see this as a pain in the butt, but I look upon it more as EVERBODY having a say in who is elected.
Cheers, Vince
