Amen Wilds.

Take it to a gunsmith or fit an aftermarket trigger group Foreign. You should never play with the trigger dimensions or sear engagement unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing and have the specialised equipment/tools to do it. Its far too complicated and can and usually does result in a firearm that is dangerous.

As an aside...most of the action and trigger parts are case hardened and once you remove the case hardening, which happens when you stone, file or grind the parts, then you are into the softer metal which results in more and faster wear and more problems.

Took a corespondence gunsmith course out of Pitts.,Pa. about 15 years ago,and they taught you GENERALLY how to go about it. $350 payable over a year I think... they even gave you the honing stones. Taught me enough to get me into trouble more than once... taught me also why 'smiths should get paid what they do get paid. It all just takes time...but I digress.
Changed out the springs in a SP101 a decade ago then dry fired it about 8000 times at the TV (Clinton was on quite a bit back then...), really smoothed things out and put calluses where they should be...
