My brother in MN has one in .223. He likes it for coyotes that won't cross the field all the way, and any skunk or fox that gets, too closs.

i have a 223 rem with a 1- 9 twist bull barrel , this thing hates 55 and 63 grn bullets
any suggestions on bullets ? . ive tried several different powders and primers with no luck . it wont even shoot remington factory bullets (4 in @ 100 yrds) i thought a bull barrel would beat that

I have a 45-70 Buffalo Classic - Loving it!!
It is definitely more accurate than I could shoot it.

Redneckhunter-I've got a pair of handi's with 1in12 twists and they hate most of my 50 grain loads-but will start to group good with the 63's-hard to figure out!My guess is the riflings appear to be marlin micro grooves, and I just can't rely on normal loading standards for those things! You might try some of the store bought loads in 45 and 50 grain just for S and G's.I got a custom made mini in 223 that came from the smith with a target with a <1moa group using 45 gr winchester whitebox and this is a 1in9 twist, yet I load 69gr hpbt match in same gun and get <1moa consistantly with it.
Just might need to experiment a bit with bullet weights.Another problem I've noticed with the NEF's is where you support the forearm-too far forward =too much upward pressure on the barrel.Lots of variables.

Redneckhunter. I think part of the problem might be the twist rate from what I have read, you probably need a heavier bullet. I have the same problem with an H&R 243, it will key hole 100 grain stuff but will give 5 shot groups at .56" with 85 grain bullets.
If you are shooting off sand bags, the Handie likes the forearm near the hinge point. I don't know why, but it makes a difference.
There is also the "O" ring thing under the forarm.
Good luck.
