Omni got me thinking about turning 303 cases that have been sized to 35 Remington. A Google search resulted in me considering the Taig lathe. www.taigtools.com/
I like that it is made in the USA and the price is right. Anyone know anything about them?

Beautiful little thing.
you can do a bit of gunsmithing with it too.
Almost bought one, bought an Emco Unimat instead tho.

The only thing that I know about them is what Lee Valley Tools has said.

At $410 for the lathe, motor and mounting board, this may be a better deal in the long run.

Another option:

www.harborfreight.com/...93212.html

Looks identical to the busybeetools one, at almost half the price. I've looked at these in person in the past and they seem fairly well made.

The downside of that is Harbor is in the US and Busy Bee and MacD are in Canada. Add the exchange, duty and fuel to go and get it and it adds up.

An interesting looking little package but my experience with small lathes makes me prefer their MINI 7IN. X12IN. CRAFTEX CX704 $749.00; for the small difference in cost to get another 4" of bed lenght it's a much more versatile package.
