Although not a new concept, I've been tempted to get the Taurus Judge as it is called. This revolver shoots 45LC and 2.5 inch 410 shells. If you go to the Taurus web sight, they have a video that demonstrates what they intended to use it for. They call it The Judge because they claim many judges who have no gun savvy have them for their protection.
I got one to carry in my vehicle, at the ready for any situation. I've had concerns about my concealed carry guns that most often are in my pocket and can't be put into action quickly while in my vehicle, The Judge now fills that gap and many more. I see it as my back up hunting gun here in snake country.
This is what I can tell you about it at this time. Having a 3 inch barrel, it patterns well at 5 yards using #8 shot shells. Really impressive with 000 buck (3 pellets) at 15 yards, and shooting slugs may be better than shooting 45LC as the slug has the velocity edge and at 15 yards shoots as accurately. I'm going to compare the latter at 50 yards some day just for giggles. Muzzle blast and recoil are surprisingly mild from what I expected. My decision at this time is to use 000 buck for defensive situations and #6 shot when hunting. The gun holds 5 rounds, I use two chambers to hold 45LCs for either scenario.
Keep it coming...

Mega dittos on the Taurus, George. At our shop it is a top seller and, for many, irresitible. Whether home or automobile defense, backpacking or just plain fun, The Judge does the job.
I bought the SS version, also 3", and have used it on two diamondbacks and three very aggressive grapefruit. All with spectacular results. It is truly one of the "go to" guns to have handy.
I wonder if they will soon introduce The Jury, The Prosecutor, The Defendent or ?
